This 20 Year old Yoichi distilled in 1987 won the title of Best Whisky in the World at the World Whisky Awards in 2008.
After the announcement that Nikka would discontinue all age statements in 2015 (read here), all age statements from Yoichi are heavily sought. Especially the ones with the awards!
This single cask of peaty, sherried Yoichi 20 Year Old 1987 has already acquired a well deserved status as a masterpiece. It is a light, yet heavily peated malt, filled in re-charred casks, which give it its special character.
