An extremely limited edition of only 52 bottles.
Bottled from an octave cask #2019-483 with a steam-heated ex-Karuizawa wash still at the very promising Shizuoka distillery in Japan. This wash still is a museum piece. It is one of the remaining parts from the famous closed Karuizawa distillery (click here for more info).
This series of labels is a tribute to the Japanese genius, which reconciles tradition and modernity. The classic figures of the samurai and the geisha, as well as the immutability of the scenery, with the presence of Mount Fuji (dominating the Shizuoka distillery) and the Japanese crane symbol of eternity, refer to the deep roots of Japanese culture. The sakura trees, the mix of gender and generation of the characters, and the choice of resolutely modern graphics evoke the spirit of renewal blowing over the land of the Rising Sun.
