In 1985, Hombo Breweries opened the Mars Shinshu distillery in Miyata village at the foot of the Komagatake Alps in Japan’s Nagano prefecture. Shinshu Mars restarted production recently in 2011. This 30-year-old single malt is one of a series of 3 releases with the artwork done by Japanese painter, Kozo Ikenaga. It is currently one of the oldest whiskies ever produced by the distillery and is limited to only 619 bottles!
