The Islay coast brings us smoky embers, sea spray, and that medicinal kick that makes you almost feel a bit Scottish when it graces your lips. This “teaspoon”-blend certainly is everything you look for in peated whisky. It is fully matured in a second fill bourbon, yet it has quite an intense colour to it. This gives a lovely vanilla cotton candy sweetness to balance out the peat of this whisky. Add in a seductive minerality and some meatiness and you have yourself a fine and complex dram. Selecting this cask wasn’t really h ARD. It certainly had us BEG ging for more.
