One of the earliest Chichibu casks. Nowadays in 2026 the number of casks that Chichibu has been bottled is over ten thousand already! This is cask number 180, part of the Malt Dream Casks series. Among collectors, the Malt Dream Cask series has become legendary because it contains many of the oldest and most highly regarded single-cask Chichibus from the distillery’s first production years. Some enthusiasts even view the bourbon-cask MDC releases as the purest expression of Chichibu’s spirit, since they showcase the distillate with relatively little cask influence.
One charming detail is that the label artwork was reportedly drawn by the daughter of the owner of Bar Te Airigh. This personal touch is characteristic of many Japanese private-bar bottlings and adds to the bottle’s collectability.
