Vatting the last 6 remaining bourbon hogsheads of 1973: Casks 3883-3888 were distilled on the 10th of May 1973 and bottled on the 2nd of June 2016 at a staggering 43 years old.
A part of these bottles have a black wax seal according to Bowmore below:
“The Bowmore 1973 will have some that have a black seal in the neck of the bottle holding the strip of ribbon in place and some will be like yours being wax dipped. The strip of ribbon did not travel well and the black wax was the solution.”
