The Auriverdes is the limited edition released on the annual Ardbeg Day in 2014. On 31 May 2014 was the distillery open day which coincides with the Feis Ile festival on Islay.
Auriverdes is a Portuguese term created by the combination of auri, “gold”, and verde, “green.” It is commonly used to refer to the national flag of Brazil, or as a nickname for many of their sports teams on account of their uniforms. Brazil hosted the World Cup in 2014. Coincidentally, these are also the brand colours of the Ardbeg distillery.
